MESH is hiring a Graphic Designer.

Studio Mesh is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer for our Brooklyn office. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Creative Director, our clients, other team members, and vendors to envision and implement print, branding, and web design work for socially-driven and creative companies and organizations.


Design and design strategy.

The Graphic Designer role requires being the lead designer on projects from concept to completion, with the guidance of the Creative Director and assistance of the team (depending on the size of the project).

Designer will:

Design branding systems, from logomark making to full brand visual systems.

Design print work, including publications, reports, promotional pieces, packaging, and stationery sets incorporating typography, illustration, infographics and photography.

Design digital experiences and interactions, in a range of project scales and levels of complexity, from simple one-page sites to complex information systems.

Allow content to dictate form and think critically and proactively on projects.

Be an active and engaged listener to client input and feedback, with ability to understand their larger design needs and complete edits in detail.

Manage their own time and efficiency.

Communicate with clients, in collaboration with timelines and workplans made by our coordinators and team leaders (considering factors such as client needs and specifications, studio workflow, and personnel such as collaborators, decision makers, and team members). It’s important to our culture and process that we work directly with our clients. A graphic designer will be expected to communicate with clients clearly, effectively, and professionally via email, phone, or in-person.

And you have clear and professional communication with studio network, such as photographers, vendors, and printers.

– Know how to delegate. You can work with Junior Designers to help realize your vision. You are comfortable using technology to communicate between different offices and locations.

– Can take the lead on a design project. You take charge, are proactive on decisions, and respectfully consider your teammates’ ideas and feedback. You feel comfortable sharing your work with clients.

– Are inspired by social justice work and hard-working small businesses. You have a passion for making impactful design for non-profits and small, local businesses.

– Understand how to put the work and the people it serves at the center. You focus on the audiences and end users of the work you make, and how it may impact people, place and communities. You understand human-centered design processes.

Qualifications & skills

– 3 – 6 years experience in the design field, working at a studio, with experience in:

Logo Design and Brand Identity Design

Campaign Visual Systems

Typographic Layout from Posters to Books

Print Design

Production (including working with printers and setting up print-ready files)


Web and Digital Design a plus

Working with and managing Junior Designers

– BA/BFA in graphic or communication design

– Fluency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator software (Sketch skills a plus!)


– Organization (we love clean files!)

– Decision-making and self-management

– Thinking proactively; you approach content constructively and analytically in regards to audience and message

– Active and reflective listening

– Inquiry-based problem solving, you know how to ask clarifying questions

– Flexibility and willingness to learn and to try new things, especially in regards to process and software

– Strong sense of typography, color, and composition

– Ability to express ideas verbally and visually

– Ability to transition quickly and seamlessly between projects
