Studio Mesh is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer for our Brooklyn office. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Creative Director, our clients, other team members, and vendors to envision and implement print, branding, and web design work for socially-driven and creative companies and organizations.
Responsibilities
Design and design strategy.
The Graphic Designer role requires being the lead designer on projects from concept to completion, with the guidance of the Creative Director and assistance of the team (depending on the size of the project).
Designer will:
Design branding systems, from logomark making to full brand visual systems.
Design print work, including publications, reports, promotional pieces, packaging, and stationery sets incorporating typography, illustration, infographics and photography.
Design digital experiences and interactions, in a range of project scales and levels of complexity, from simple one-page sites to complex information systems.
Allow content to dictate form and think critically and proactively on projects.
Be an active and engaged listener to client input and feedback, with ability to understand their larger design needs and complete edits in detail.
Manage their own time and efficiency.
Communicate with clients, in collaboration with timelines and workplans made by our coordinators and team leaders (considering factors such as client needs and specifications, studio workflow, and personnel such as collaborators, decision makers, and team members). It’s important to our culture and process that we work directly with our clients. A graphic designer will be expected to communicate with clients clearly, effectively, and professionally via email, phone, or in-person.
You:
– Love working collaboratively. You step in to help out with one of your teammates project where they need it. You participate and contribute in team meetings, brainstorms, critique, and collaborations. And you have clear and professional communication with studio network, such as photographers, vendors, and printers.
– Appreciate input and feedback on your work. You take feedback as an opportunity to improve and refine your work.
– Know how to delegate. You can work with Junior Designers to help realize your vision. You are comfortable using technology to communicate between different offices and locations.
– Appreciate a small studio environment. You thrive in a collaborative small studio environment. You’re interested in growing long-term with a small, committed team.
